Welcome to Reference Online! We now offer two ways of online assistance in addition to telephone reference (508-999-8678). Reference Online is now offered from the reference desk during regular reference hours (Mondays-Thursdays 8:30 am- 10 pm; Friday 8:30 am-5 pm; Saturday 9:30 am-5 pm; Sunday noon-10 pm.)

Live Reference Online. This is a “chat” reference service using LivePerson software. We invite you to "chat" with us about your research and ask any questions you might have about our services and collections. You do not need to any special software, just click on the icon below and you will be connected with one of our librarians through your browser. This service is intended primarily for students, faculty, and staff of UMass Dartmouth; if the reference desk is busy, we may ask others to use the telephone service instead.

You may be asked to provide your telephone number and email address. This will enable us to contact you in case of a service disruption (For example, it's easy for you to accidently close your browser during the chat and we need a way to get back in touch with you!).

If you connect to us during a time when the service is not available you will see an email form where you can enter your question. You may prefer to telephone (508-999-8678) or use the form below for our own separate email reference service.

Please note that we cannot undertake extensive research, compile bibliographies, or provide copies of library materials in response to e-mail requests.

Interlibrary loan requests should be submitted through the interlibrary loan link on the library's home page. For questions about library materials you have borrowed, including renewal requests, please call 508-999-8750.
