Study Rooms, Classrooms, and Labs

NOTE: Students may reserve some group study rooms through the campus' ReservIT system.

Library 1st Floor

The first floor is a service centered space with large open areas - much filled with technology. The Learning Commons & Compter Lab are mixed use spaces usually full of students working indiviually and together at computer workstations. The Computer Lab is available for individual use when it is not being used by classes or presentations. Room 127 is a collaborative work space with a large screen display and media table with built-in interactive technologies. The Grand Reading Room is the main presentation area in the Claire T. Carney Library and though very busy is open for study when not in use for events.

Library 2nd Floor

The Library 2nd Floor is a service floor containing the Scholarly Commons and the Digital Media Center. Located on the center of the floor are two computer labs that can be used for individual and group work when classes or events are not scheduled for the area. Individual and small group (2-3 people) study spaces are behind the several glass partitions surrounding the Scholarly Commons. Open seating with couches, comfy chairs and bench seating are on the south end of the floor. Room 217 is a collaborative work space with large screen displays and media table with built-in interactive technologies.There are offices for the Honors Program, Faculty Development, CITS Instructional Development and Library Information Services on this floor.

 

Library 3rd Floor

The Library 3rd floor is contains shelving stacks for Art & Music Books (Collection Call Numbers: M & N) and the library's print journal collection. Group study rooms are available for use on the east and west ends of the floor.  Around the edges of the floor near the windows are individual study spaces. Group tables are interspersed throughout the collection shelving stacks on this floor. The Library Viewing Room (314) is located near the "back" stairway on the south side of the floor. The Veterans' Reading Room (354) is also located on the south side of the floor and is designated as a quiet study, work and relaxation space that is open to all veterans and service members.

 

Library 4th Floor

The library 4th floor is a is a service and staff office floor for the Library and CITS. There are no study spaces on this floor. Conference rooms 426 and 427 are located on this floor. The CITS Access Management Service desk and CITS Learning Space Operations are located near the elevators on the north end of this floor.

Library 5th Floor

The library 5th floor contains shelving stacks for the library's general book collection (Collection Call Numbers: A-L; P-Z). Group study rooms are available for use on the east and west ends of the floor. Around the edges of the floor near the windows are individual study spaces. Group tables are interspersed throughout the collection shelving stacks on this floor.
